What to Watch on Netflix in April 2024

April sees more Rebel Moon, a pair of deceased kid detectives, magic pranks and a whole lot more on Netflix

Updated March 29, 2024
Dead Boy Detectives Dead Boy Detectives (Netflix)

No fooling; April is another loaded month for Netflix. The second installment of Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon is a big draw, but the platform is also getting a massive wave of reality shows, stand-up comedy, documentaries, anime and more. Here's our guide to the hottest upcoming content on the streaming service in April. Netflix is phasing out certain subscription tiers, so this is a prime time to consider a subscription.

The Magic Prank Show With Justin Willman (Apr. 1)

A love of stage magic is what separates men from beasts, and Netflix has had success with master illusionist Justin Willman before. His new series, The Magic Prank Show, takes it to a whole new level by staging massive pranks along with a team of co-conspirators. Whether you're looking to get revenge, teach someone a lesson, or just have some fun, these over-the-top stunts will get the job done.

Ripley (Apr. 4)

Based on the legendary thrillers by Patricia Highsmith, Ripley introduces us to Tom Ripley, an amoral grifter played by Andrew Scott. When he's hired by a rich New Yorker to travel to Europe and convince his wayward son to come home, it opens the door for a cascade of deceit, impersonation, and eventually murder. These are some of the most hard-boiled stories ever told, and the series should be a dark delight.

Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver (Apr. 19)

Zack Snyder's multi-part sci-fi epic rolls on with a second installment. In The Scargiver, the conflict between the resistance forces and Motherworld comes to a boil, with the mysteriously resurrected Atticus Noble returning to put down the rebellion. Can Kora keep her ragtag band of fighters together? What's the deal with Jimmy and his antlers? And will the people of Veldt be able to win their freedom?

Dead Boy Detectives (Apr. 25)

Based on comic characters created by Neil Gaiman, Dead Boy Detectives features a pair of boarding school kids named Charles Rowland and Edwin Paine who skipped out on the afterlife in order to stay on Earth solving supernatural mysteries. The characters first appeared in the MAX series Doom Patrol, but the spin-off made its way to Netflix because that service is focusing on TLC reality shows now.
